Balvonie Green

Inverness, Scotland

Cottage flats for Highland Housing Alliance within Scotland's Housing Expo.

The development, completed in July 2015, consisting of six two-storey contemporary houses and flats at Balvonie Green, was the last remaining undeveloped site within Scotland’s Housing Expo development in Inverness.

Scotlands Housing Expo was opened in 2010 following a design competition. It comprised a development of 50+ dwellings with a mix of flats, terraces, semi detached dwellings and detached dwellings.  Balvonie Green is central within the overall developed site, overlooking the Village Green.

The site borders The Avenue to the North East and North Street to the South-West, there is a close to the rear linking The Avenue and North Street.

The house designs are contemporary in appearance with a grey painted timber cladding finish and varied window styles, maximising the light into the main living spaces. The units have been staggered to give a varied building line and break up the elevation In context with the original design brief the external finishes of the building are monochrome and mute colour theme.
